In an unremarkable apartment building on a leafy, barely trafficked side street lies Pension Haydn. Quiet and inexpensive, it's an especially great budget option for mature (read: post-backpacker) penny-pinchers. Haydn is close to the restaurants, cafes, and tourist attractions clustering around Sendlinger Tor.
Pension Haydn is not packed with creature comforts. White tile floors are reminiscent of a low-key holiday guesthouse in some quiet beach town far away from Bavaria. While rooms are very clean, a few are worn, and their furnishings are nothing to write home about. The shower rooms could also benefit from improved ventilation. The balconied room is the best of the bunch, light and airy. In all, four rooms have private bathrooms, and nine share a bathroom and toilet.
Haydn's breakfasts are served in a cozy little breakfast nook, an ideal place to get to know your fellow pensionistas. A small shaded garden area in back extends the friendly mood. The proprietors live on site and are always available for late arrivals and emergencies.
