On a tiny street in the center of Munich's gorgeous old town is Pension Lindner, one of the least expensive beds in the city and one of the most reliable city-center pensions in Munich. The sunny rooms are fairly simple, with a focus on utility, not style. But at least they're spotless.
Lindner consists of 10 very simple rooms, four of which have their own showers (and one of which has a tub). Rooms occupy the third and fourth floors of an apartment building. The proprietor lives on the second floor of the pension and is usually in residence. When she is not present, a complex automated reception machine in the entryway serves as concierge.
Pension Lindner is minutes from the Viktualienmarkt and Marienplatz, both of which are among Munich's most vibrant tourist attractions. It's a treat to find such an inexpensive room at the very nerve-center of Munich's most gorgeous district, which you might want to explore for breakfast options as the hotel's is fairly basic.

About the Pension Lindner neighborhood
"Stadtmitte" means City Center. A striking number of Munich's attractions are situated in Stadtmitte. To name a few: Marienplatz, Altes Rathaus and the Munich City Museum. The Frauenkirche, or Dom, is also here. Stadtmitte is Munich at its most distinctive, Bavarian, and downright charming.
