Situated in the heart of Old Town and minutes from Marienplatz and Hofbräuhaus, the four-star Hotel Platzl is an authentic Bavarian lodge with plenty of luxurious extras housed in a 17th-century building.
The 167 rooms are spacious and freshly painted in shades of gold, forest green, and maroon. The beds are outfitted with attractive down-feather linens, and rooms sport A/C and soundproofed windows (helpful when your room faces the rowdy Hofbräuhaus). Bathrooms, which are private, have all the necessities and are squeaky clean.
The Hotel Platzl offers guests complimentary bathrobes and slippers to be used in the Arabian-themed spa, sauna, and solarium. As if that weren't enough, the downstairs dining room, lobby, and lounge are adorned with dazzling chandeliers and dark leather furniture.
The complimentary breakfast, served in the lovely dining room, is a hearty spread, with sausages and strong coffee among other Bavarian staples.
