The massive, 201-room Tryp Hotel towers over the busy Paul Heyse Strasse near Central Station. The four-star hotel is a perfect pick for both business travelers and clean freaks who want a reliable stay with no frills or surprises.
Rooms are basic, but furnishings are new and modern. Aside from some loud carpets, the room décor is standard "chain hotel." Premium rooms sport some extra amenities, including a fax machine, pull-out bed, and a coffee maker. The bathrooms are the usual: clean and fresh.
The Tryp boasts a garden, bar, offices, meeting rooms, and a fitness room complete with sun beds and saunas (hence the four-star status!). The hotel's restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner.

The blocks south of the Hauptbahnhof, or main train station, feature a staggering number of hotels. Many of Munich's sex shops can also be found here, as well as shopping, restaurants, bars and cafés. Stadtmitte is also nearby and very well served by public transportation.
