Located on a street between Times Square and the Avenue of the Americas, this two-star Comfort Inn eschews the bright lights and blaring marquees in favor of more traditional décor.
The 79 guest rooms are trim and modern with minimal detailed flourishes. The color scheme is muted earth tones, offset by furnishings of cherry wood. All rooms are equipped with telephones, flat-screen TVs, MP3 hook-ups and free Wi-Fi. Marble bathroom floors are pristine.
The Comfort Inn Midtown has a positively prim lobby, with chandeliers and heavy, ornate draperies. Victorian artwork adorns the walls, complementing the antique furniture, and begging the question, is it tea time yet?
If the atmosphere becomes all too proper for you, just step outside. The block is packed with bar and grill-style restaurants. It ain't fancy.

About the Comfort Inn Midtown neighborhood
Midtown West is packed with tourists sights... and tourist-class hotels. Working west from Fifth Avenue to Hell's Kitchen and up to Central Park, the neighborhood is home to the Theater District, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the Museum of Modern Art. Not to mention Times Square—an entity within itself. Though most New Yorkers steer clear of this congested (and now pedestrianized) area, the neon lights, larger-than-life billboards, and wise-talking street vendors keep the visitors coming. And coming. And coming.
