Midtown West is chockablock with tourists sights, so it comes as no surprise that it's also chockablock with tourist-class hotels. Working west from Fifth Avenue to Hell's Kitchen and stretching north from 37th Street up to Central Park, Midtown West is home to the Theater District, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the Museum of Modern Art. Whew! And then there's Times Square—an entity within itself. Though most New Yorkers steer clear of this congested area, the neon lights, larger-than-life billboards, and wise-talking street vendors keep the visitors coming. And coming. And coming.

Though not the most picturesque portion of the city—tall, uninspired office buildings form the bulk of the architecture—Midtown West does have its pleasant parts. The awe-inspiring New York Public Library and adjacent Bryant Park are two excellent places to find some respite. Plus, Midtown West certainly offers visitors convenience. Just about every train line is in walking distance, should you ever decide to venture beyond its borders, and the Port Authority Bus Terminal can get you to and from all the major airports, as well as other parts of the region.
