The Hotel Pennsylvania has labeled itself the "World’s Most Popular Hotel." Well, we're not sure about that ... but with a whopping 1,700 rooms located across the street from Madison Square Garden, it may well be one of the world's most populated hotels.
The lobby certainly feels like the epicenter of a great deal of activity, with tons of tourists, school groups, and airline staff milling about. If you find all this information exhilarating rather than overwhelming, then the Pennsylvania may be the place for you.
Rooms, which are in no way modern, are clean, comfortable, and super affordable. We think the bedding and carpeting could use a facelift, though a recent round of reservations have perked the hotel up a little bit. All in all, accommodations are appropriate for the rock-bottom prices.
Business guests may wish to opt for the Penn 5000 Club, which offers extra business-related amenities, complimentary coffee and breakfast, and use of Internet and printers.
The hotel is just a short walk from the Jacob Javits Center and the Empire State Building. |
