Situated just off the Avenue Jean Medecin and five minutes from Old Nice and the beach, the one-star Residence du Petit Louvre is a perfect, central pick for Cheapos—especially those who plan an extended stay in Nice.

The 32 basic rooms are decked out with blue bedding and yellow furniture on wooden floors. Each room is equipped with a kitchenette, free WiFi access and a simple white-tiled bathroom.

The Petit Louvre has reasonable nightly rates, with doubles starting around €55. However, if you’re going to be in Nice throughout the winter, you'll definitely want to ask the Petit Louvre about long-term pricing, as the hotel offers substantial student discounts from September to April.

Following the beachfront, the picture-perfect Boulevard des Anglais is ideal for afternoon strolls and "special moment" splurges. Most of the hotels in this neighborhood are located north of the Boulevard, in the direction of the train station though all within easy walking distance of the beach.
