Hotel Durante

Tucked away from the street, and only a few hundred yards from the train station, the three-star Hotel Durante provides reasonably priced rooms and a beautiful garden.

The 24 rooms, which look out on the courtyard garden, are decorated with blues and lots of orange (probably a nod to the blooming orange trees that sit outside the windows). Rooms are a nicely sized, with large beds and en suite bathrooms equipped with toiletries and a hairdryer. Amenities include air conditioning, satellite TV and Wi-Fi. Some rooms have kitchenettes, so book early if you plan to make meals chez Durante.

Even with luggage, it is an easy walk to the Durante from the train station, and the hotel is only a two-minute walk to the tram stop. Old Nice and the famous Promenade des Anglais are about 15 minutes away by foot.

Note: Rooms on the ground floor open to the courtyard portion of the garden. These rooms have lower ceilings than those higher up and might even feel a little bit claustrophobic. We recommend the upstairs rooms.
