The three-star Hotel Harvey (also called the Hotel De Suède) is a simple place to stay with a stellar location, just around the corner from the Promenade des Anglais and near Nice's restaurants and bars.
The 64 basic rooms are outfitted in yellows, reds and browns, which gives them a bit of a '70s feel. All, however, are equipped with modern amenities including A/C, satellite television, mini-fridge and safe. Free Wi-Fi is available in the lobby, though the Harvey staff turns it off at night. A few rooms sport balconies overlooking the rue Suède, but these are generally booked well in advance (ask ahead).
For the brave-hearted, the hotel's staff offered a Cheapo tip: The hotel will sometimes give discounted rates to backpackers coming in without reservations. You might save a few Euros, or you might find that the hotel is full—"bonne chance"!

About the Hotel Harvey neighborhood
Following the beachfront, the picture-perfect Boulevard des Anglais is ideal for afternoon strolls and "special moment" splurges. Most of the hotels in this neighborhood are located north of the Boulevard, in the direction of the train station though all within easy walking distance of the beach.
