The one-star Hotel Rex is located near the shops and restaurants on Rue Massena. To reach the reception, you'll walk through an inner courtyard and climb a few flights of stairs.
Upstairs, are 10 pretty rooms with sponge painted walls and large windows. All are equipped with flat screen TVs, telephone and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms have air conditioning as well, so ask ahead (especially if you're visiting during the summer). Bathrooms are small and less attractive, but they are functional and come with hairdryers.
There is also a private little garden where you can sit and relax after a long day on the beach. The Hotel Rex is a fine choice for Cheapos who want a quiet place to sleep in central Nice.

About the Rex neighborhood
Following the beachfront, the picture-perfect Boulevard des Anglais is ideal for afternoon strolls and "special moment" splurges. Most of the hotels in this neighborhood are located north of the Boulevard, in the direction of the train station though all within easy walking distance of the beach.
