Centre International BVJ Paris-Louvre

The Centre International BVJ Paris-Louvre is a no-nonsense youth hostel with a magnificent location just two blocks north of the Louvre. For travelers between the ages of 18 and 35, the hostel offers a simple night’s rest for €30 a person.

Rooms

Housed in a lovely 19th-century Haussmann-era building, the BVJ Paris-Louvre has a grand entrance and large atrium at its heart. Upstairs, the hostel accommodates up to 210 guests, mostly in basic dorms, although the hostel also offers 13 double rooms.

When we say basic, we mean it: Rooms have beds and a sink; no TV, no telephone. Regardless of room type, all guests share bathrooms.

Hostel facilities

The hostel is quite popular with large groups of students and other packs of travelers who fit into its strict 18-35 age limit. It isn’t, however, a party hostel (which we note above as both a "pro" and a "con," depending on your preferences). In fact, the BVJ is quite serious about its "silence after 10 p.m.," "no smoking" and "no alcohol" policies. Those seeking poker nights and Jager shots should look elsewhere (for example, the Woodstock Hostel).

Downstairs, Wi-Fi is offered for a fee in the lobby. A simple breakfast is included in the room rate. Note: The hostel accepts cash only.

Location

The BVJ Paris-Louvre is located along the tiny rue Jean Jacques Rousseau two blocks from the Louvre’s Cour Carrée. This is truly impressive, and it means that the rest of central Paris is also easily accessible.

Getting to the hostel from Charles de Gaulle is also a breeze, as the Les Halles RER station (with a direct airport connection) is a five-minute walk away.
