The Hotel de Turenne is a two-star Cheapo-friendly hotel with modern amenities and a stellar location: It's a five minute walk from the Eiffel Tower, the Rue Cler market and the Invalides airport shuttle.
Pros: Air-conditioned rooms. Low rates. Free Wi-Fi. Short walk to the Eiffel Tower.
Cons: Simple furnishings.
The two-star Hotel de Turenne is a classic Cheapo pick: It boasts cheap, clean, and cheery rooms with a great location near the Eiffel Tower. Oh, and a really friendly staff to boot!
The hotel’s 34 rooms are brightly painted and outfitted with navy blue carpets, simple Formica furnishings and colorful bedspreads with matching curtains. All are equipped with a small flat-screen TV, telephone, safe and (notably, for this price) air conditioning. Wi-Fi is offered for free throughout the hotel.
Rooms facing the busy rue de Tourville may get some noise, although the windows are double-glazed to keep things quiet (and the air conditioning means that you don’t have to sleep with the windows open). Room size varies, with the cheapest “Classic” rooms tighter than more expensive “Tradition” rooms.
Private bathrooms, in all rooms, sport either showers or bathtubs, and all are equipped with hair dryers.
A continental breakfast (€9) is served downstairs in a recently renovated lounge (we kind of loved the bright orange vinyl chairs).
The Metro station École Militaire is a two-minute walk from the front door.

About the Hotel de Turenne neighborhood
Many of the surrounding streets offer up storybook views of the Eiffel Tower, still the tallest building in Paris. Another striking monument is the 18-carat-gold dome of the Invalides, that glimmers along the Seine's left bank, just east of the Eiffel Tower. Notable museums include the Musée d'Orsay, the Musée Rodin and the Musée du Quai Branly.
