The Hotel de Turenne is a two-star Cheapo-friendly hotel with modern amenities and a stellar location: It's a five minute walk from the Eiffel Tower, the Rue Cler market and the Invalides airport shuttle.

The hotel
The Hotel de Turenne's 34 rooms are brightly painted and outfitted with navy blue carpets, simple Formica furnishings and colorful bedspreads with matching curtains. All rooms are equipped with a small flat-screen TV, telephone and (notably, for this price) air conditioning. Wi-Fi is offered for free throughout the hotel. Private bathrooms sport either showers or bathtubs and all are equipped with hair dryers.
A continental breakfast (€9) is served downstairs in a recently renovated lounge (we kind of loved the bright orange vinyl chairs).
The metro station Ecole Militaire is a two-minute walk from the front door.

About the Hotel de Turenne neighborhood
The Left Bank neighborhood surrounding the Eiffel Tower in the 7th arrondissement boasts wide, tree-lined boulevards, ritzy apartments and many foreign embassies and government buildings. Small pockets of cafés and shops around the Rue Cler and Rue du Bac add storybook Paris atmosphere. This neighborhood is a short Metro ride to most major sights.
