The Hotel des Jardins du Luxembourg, a definite splurge, is steps away from the impeccably maintained Luxembourg gardens and a couple blocks from the looming Panthéon. Hidden down the tiny impasse Royer-Collard in a (relatively) quiet area of the Latin Quarter, it's the perfect place for some serious psychoanalysis.
At least that's what Sigmund Freud may have thought in 1888. Freud stayed here for several weeks during his first visit to the City of Lights, and it is said that upon noticing that the curtains around his bed were green, he applied chemical tests to make sure they didn't contain deadly arsenic. We're happy to say the hotel has since been renovated many times over, and Freud's dreaded green curtains are long gone.
Aside from a world-famous psychoanalyst or two, the Jardins du Lux' mostly caters to quiet-minded couples. The Jardins du Lux' guarantees guests a slew of amenities, and a bit of Parisian class. It has 26 three-star rooms, all recently renovated with a chic, modern decor.
Rooms are quite spacious and feature attractive touches such as latticework headboards and decorative sculptures. Soft lighting helps create a warm ambiance. Bathrooms, outfitted with colorful, playful tile-work, are impeccably clean.
