Hotel Diana

Located on the bustling and central rue Saint-Jacques, the two-star Hotel Diana is warm and inviting. While not a classic “Cheapo,” its rates are quite reasonable considering its location, quality and friendly management.

The hotel

The Hotel Diana’s 22 non-smoking rooms, situated on its five floors (with elevator), are quite nice. They boast new carpets, crisp white curtains and orange drapes. Double windows should keep out much of the noise of passing traffic on rue Saint Jacques, although light sleepers might want to ask for a room facing the back courtyard (or on a higher floor).

All rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV, telephone, safe and air conditioning (notable for Paris). Wi-Fi is offered for free throughout the hotel. All double rooms have a renovated private bath, equipped with a bathtub and hair dryer. Bathrooms in the Hotel Diana’s two single rooms are equipped with a shower.

Breakfast is available for €8.

Value

With double rates hovering around €100-110 per night, the Diana isn’t necessarily “cheap.” However, it is a reliable option, and its location (just south of the Boulevard Saint-Germain on rue Saint-Jacques) is a major selling point.
