It's so comfortable in the Hôtel du Champ de Mars, you might have a hard time leaving your room. Lucky, then, that the hotel sits practically in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, just around the corner from the bustling rue Cler.
Owners Françoise and Stéphane have created a two-star hotel that looks and feels like a Provençal home. There's even an adorable dog, Cannelle, who hops on the front desk from time to time to say hello.
The Champ de Mars is light, airy, and cozy. The lobby and 25 rooms exude the charm of the French countryside with a warm palette of floral fabrics and carpeting, and fanciful wallpaper—we especially like those walls papered in monkeys and flowers, how original!
The tiled bathrooms are large, and most are equipped with bathtubs. Every room, from the bedrooms on the top floor to the breakfast dining area in the basement cave invites visitors to lounge around with a newspaper or book, and many guests do.
Breakfast is €7, and is worth it for the ambiance alone in the underground dining area.
The hotel is not filled with amenities, but the Hôtel du Champ de Mars is defined by it's charm, comfort, and warmth.
