The Prince is located on an elegant, tree-lined street a block from the Eiffel Tower. The Ecole Militaire metro station is right across the street, and a typically Parisian wine bistro is right next door.
Prime location and safe neighborhood aside, this two-star hotel offers some comforting amenities such as an elevator and air-conditioning. Just off the lobby is a small TV lounge decorated with antique furnishings and a grandfather clock.
The hotel is only partly finished with much-needed room renovations (they will continue through 2007), so you'll have to book early to get the ones with new carpeting, bedspreads, modern furniture, and exposed stones walls.
Bathrooms in the singles and small doubles can be quite cramped. If you need extra space, be sure to ask for the larger rooms with bathtub. Rooms on the second and fifth floors have balconies overlooking the street.
The cold buffet breakfast is priced steep at €10, but you can always wander down to the cafés of the neighboring Rue Cler for heartier fare or a quick stop at any bakery for fresh croissants on the go.
