The two-star Hotel Prince offers moderately-priced rooms along an elegant, tree-lined avenue one block from the Eiffel Tower. It's a convenient spot, although the unrenovated rooms may be too shabby for some.
Pros: Charming, convenient location. Comfortable. Some rooms have balconies.
Cons: Plain decor. Unrenovated. Small bathrooms.
It’s really all about the location at the Hotel Prince. It’s a reasonable choice for those willing to overlook the unrenovated condition of the rooms in exchange for a spot one block from the big Tower.
The Prince's 30 rooms sport green carpeting that's seen fuller days, floral bedspreads, standard furniture and attractive stone walls. Rooms are equipped with a cable TV, safe, and soundproofing, and some rooms on upper floors have balconies overlooking the street.
Bathrooms in the singles and smaller doubles can be quite cramped. If you need extra space, be sure to ask for the larger rooms with bathtub.
Prime location and safe neighborhood aside, this two-star hotel manages to be comfortable enough, but not charming. The cold buffet breakfast is a steep €10, but you can always wander down to the cafés of the neighboring Rue Cler for heartier (and cheaper) fare.

About the Hôtel Prince neighborhood
Many of the surrounding streets offer up storybook views of the Eiffel Tower, still the tallest building in Paris. Another striking monument is the 18-carat-gold dome of the Invalides, that glimmers along the Seine's left bank, just east of the Eiffel Tower. Notable museums include the Musée d'Orsay, the Musée Rodin and the Musée du Quai Branly.
