Although it’s not the cheapest hotel in our list, the Splendid gets a special nod for offering what we’ve found to be the most reasonable rates for rooms with direct Tower views.
Pros: Incredible Eiffel Tower views. Clean, well-furnished rooms.
Cons: Prices are not-so-Cheapo. Wi-Fi costs €10 per hour.
The Hotel Splendid is an aptly named splurge. What else can you say about a place that dishes up 48 three-star rooms that are fresh, clean and offer larger-than-life views of the Eiffel Tower? That’s right—all 48 have views (although some are better than others).
Throughout, the Splendid's décor and furnishings are pretty standard, yet feature all of the necessary three-star amenities, including a television, minibar, telephone, iron and double-glazed windows (which is good, in that the area is pretty busy).
Single rooms have showers only, while the doubles and triples have combination bathtub-showers.
As the Splendid is situated on a triangular angle at the southeast corner of the Champ de Mars (the park surrounding the Eiffel Tower), all rooms face the street. You might want to splurge on one of the deluxe doubles or stylishly-decorated Junior Suites along the corner, which face the tower directly for picture-postcard views.
Rooms along the side still offer views, but you have to stick your head out the window and look to your right or left to see them. The fifth floor provides balconies large enough to enjoy breakfast on while taking in the view.
Honeymoon Cheapos take note: The hotel also offers a special “honeymoon package”, promising a “magic night” in a junior suite overlooking the Eiffel Tower (along with champagne, breakfast, etc.). These go for the not-cheapo-at-all €175 per person. (Assuming that you’re only getting married to one person, that would make it €350 a night.)
Wi-Fi is available throughout for a pricey €10 per hour.

About the Splendid Hôtel Tour Eiffel neighborhood
Many of the surrounding streets offer up storybook views of the Eiffel Tower, still the tallest building in Paris. Another striking monument is the 18-carat-gold dome of the Invalides, that glimmers along the Seine's left bank, just east of the Eiffel Tower. Notable museums include the Musée d'Orsay, the Musée Rodin and the Musée du Quai Branly.
