Situated in the 7th arrondissement (Paris' Left Bank) on the Champ de Mars park, the Eiffel Tower is without a doubt the most famous symbol of Paris. The iron lattice tower, constructed in 1889, is named for the engineer who designed it. Today it’s still the tallest building in the city, standing 324 meters tall (1,063 feet), about the height of an 80-floor building.
