Cheap hotels near Gare St-Lazare in Paris, France

The second busiest train terminal in Paris (second only to the Gare du Nord), the Gare Saint-Lazare sees about 450,000 passengers a day and is situated in the city’s 9th arrondissement with close proximity to the Grand Boulevards.

The “gare” has a beautiful facade that’s been restored over the years. The landmark station has been featured in famous works by painters Edouard Manet and Claude Monet. In fact, in 1998, the National Gallery in Washington, D.C. along with the Musée d’Orsay hosted an exhibit called, “Manet, Monet and the Gare Saint-Lazare.” Both artists had homes or studios near the station.

The station provides SNCF services as well as suburban rail service (RER). St-Lazare also offers great proximity to Metro lines and other points outside of Paris.

Hotels near Gare St-Lazare: As with most train stations, there are a fair number of budget-friendly hotels to be found near the Gare Saint Lazare. On this page, we list hotels located south of the station, near Place de l’Opéra and near the Grands Boulevards. These hotels would be quite convenient for visiting the city’s central sights, and would put you within walking distance of the Louvre and Jardin de Tuileries.

North of the station, there are also many options in the Montmartre neighborhood, and near Place de Clichy and Place Pigalle. These may be a bit cheaper, and some guests will enjoy the proximity to Montmartre, but you’ll have to take the Metro to get into the city's center.
