Cheap hotels near Île Saint-Louis in Paris, France
Located just east of the Île de la Cité, the smaller and more residential Île Saint-Louis is a favorite with tourists, who flock to the island's boutique-lined streets and pose for photos, standing before grand vistas of the Seine.
Long before Parisians moved to the island, cattle roamed freely. The island was developed in the 17th century under the reigns of Henry IV and Louis XIII, although it’s named for Louis IX. The Pont Saint-Louis connects the island to the Île de la Cité, home to Notre Dame.
The Île Saint-Louis makes a wonderful spot to enjoy a coffee, pick up a Glaces Berthillon, visit the Église Saint-Louis-en-Île, or just stroll along the banks, gazing out at Paris.
Hotels near the Île Saint-Louis: Although we don’t have any Cheapo recommendations on the island, we do recommend many budget hotels in the nearby Latin Quarter and Marais (both a 5-minute walk away).
Address 20 rue St Paul (3rd/4th: Marais / Hôtel-de-Ville)
Located just a jump cut away from the Seine in the heart of the old Marais, this small family-run hotel is a shrine to Franco-American cinema.

Address 42 Bis, Rue de Rivoli (3rd/4th: Marais / Hôtel-de-Ville)
Situated directly across from the Hôtel de Ville on a café-lined pedestrian square, the two-star Hôtel de Nice provides the kind of fun and flamboyant décor that will delight those looking for something a bit eclectic.
Address 44 Rue de Rivoli (and 2 Rue des Mauvais Garcons) (3rd/4th: Marais / Hôtel-de-Ville)
The Rivoli’s 20 rooms are unapologetically plain, dated, and a bit scruffy, with thin carpeting and no artwork on the walls. (But have you looked at those rates?) Cheapo warning: The hotel is planning to renovate.
