Cheap hotels near Notre Dame in Paris, France

The Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris, located smack in the center of Paris on the Île de la Cité, is the seat of the Archbishop of Paris and dates back to the 12th century. The structure is one of Paris' most famous, and is especially notable for its early use of flying buttresses and for its iconic, grimacing gargoyles.

Entrance is free and open daily from 8 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. on weekdays and until 7:15 p.m. on weekends. Masses are held daily, and three times on Sunday. (Visit the cathedral’s website for times.)

If you're planning on climbing the towers (the views are amazing!), be prepared to pay a fee (€8.50 for adults) and to bring your climbing shoes: it's a 387 step hike to the top.
