Cheap hotels near Place d'Italie in Paris, France

Place d’Italie, a major intersection in the southeast of Paris, may feel a bit far flung to first-time visitors. Its 13th arrondissement location is convenient to some Latin Quarter attractions and offers service to three Metro lines, but on the whole, it’s a bit of a trek to most of the main sights in Paris. For repeat visitors or travelers who want a different experience of Paris, though, the area around Place d’Italie offers the opportunity to live more like a local.

The surrounding neighborhood is mostly residential, though it does offer a lot of restaurants and cinemas, especially in the Butte-aux-Cailles neighborhood to the southwest and the Gobelins neighborhood to the north.

Located southeast of the Place d’Italie is Paris’ main Chinatown, which features a wealth of Asian restaurants. And if you’re looking for shopping, there is also a large mall right on Place d’Italie.

Cheap hotels near Place d’Italie: This area offers a few nice budget hotels, though not an abundance since it isn’t exactly hopping with tourists. The Cheapo pick Hotel de la Place des Alpes is a good option, offering budget beds just a block or two east of the Place. There are considerably more options for cheap sleeps in the more tourist-laden Latin Quarter, to the north.
