Cheap hotels near Place Pigalle in Paris, France
Located along the Boulevard de Clichy at the base of Montmartre in the 9th arrondissement, the Place Pigalle is an often sleazy, but always lively public square.
Place Pigalle is the most prominent spot in the Pigalle neighborhood, an area that, at the end of the 19th century high-kicked with cabarets (including the Moulin Rouge, still located at the nearby Place Blanche), cafés and artist studios.
Today the neighborhood still has an energy about it, although it's a complicated mix of legitimate theaters, porn and sex shows, prostitutes, cheap clothing shops, fast-food joints, tour buses and some large hotels.
Cheap hotels near Place Pigalle: The area surrounding Place Pigalle is home to many cheap sleeps, some of which are recommended here (and some of which we’ve skipped over). Hotels further north up the Montmartre hill tend to be a bit more charming, while those further south toward Opéra can be pricier.
