Port-Royal is a stop on the Paris RER line B. Built initially for trains in 1895, the station’s architecture differs greatly from most other RER stations and looks more like a French gare than a typical Metro stop.
Located in the middle of the Left Bank, Port-Royal is in somewhat of a no-man’s land. Straddling St-Germain, Montparnasse and the Latin Quarter, Port-Royal isn’t far from the major sights of the left bank, but it isn’t especially close to any either.
Perhaps its main benefit is that it is on the RER B, providing direct access to Charles de Gaulle airport.
Cheap hotels near Port-Royal: The closest budget hotels to Port-Royal are located in the Montparnasse neighborhood and the southern edge of St-Germain des Prés. A room at the Résidence du Palais will place you close to the Luxembourg Gardens and give you easy access to both neighborhoods.
