How do you see Pisa without unloading all your euros? Take a visit to the tourist office, then keep reading for more info on museum and transportation passes and discounts for seniors and students.

Tourist Office Information

There are three tourist offices in Pisa. The first, near the Leaning Tower at 8 Piazza Arcivescovado, is open every day from 10 AM to 6 PM. Down the street from the main train station at 16 Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, a branch is open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 7 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 1:30 PM; it is closed on Sundays and public holidays. A smaller office on Piazza XX Settembre at the corner of Lungarno Galilei is open daily from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

You’ll also find a branch of the tourist office at the airport, located in the arrivals hall, which is open every day from 11 AM to 11 PM.

Museum Passes

You can visit many of the museums and sights along the Piazza dei Miracoli—excluding the famous tower—for a discounted rate if you buy a group of tickets. View one monument for €5, two monuments for €6 or four monuments for €8. Entrance to the Cathedral, normally €2, is free from November 1 to the end of February.

Transportation Passes

A day pass for the Pisa city buses is available for €3.05. Find more information about transportation on the Getting Around Pisa page.

Senior Discounts

Members of the AARP receive discounts on hotels, airfares and car rentals in Pisa. They can be reached in the United States at 1-800-424-3410 or accessed online at the AARP website.

Student Discounts

The International Student Identity Card, ISIC, the most widely accepted form of student ID, provides discounts on sights, accommodations, food and transportation. Some places offer admission discounts of 20%-50% to ISIC members. All cardholders have access to a 24-hour emergency helpline. In the United States call 1-800-223-7986 or click onto the ISIC site. Applicants must be degree seekers of a secondary or post-secondary school and must be at least 12 years of age. The card costs US$22 and is valid until the end of the year issued.

For non-students 25 years or younger, the International Youth Card, IYTC, also offers many of the same benefits as the ISIC. The card costs US$22 and is valid for one year from the date issue.
