Cheap hotels near Josefov (Jewish Quarter) in Prague, Czech Republic
The Jewish quarter (formerly the Jewish Ghetto) of Prague, Josefov has a long history marked by both tragedy and resilience. Dating back to the 10th century, the cramped, walled-in Ghetto, though somewhat autonomous, was greatly oppressed and subjected to several pogroms.
Most of the old Ghetto was destroyed in the early 20th century, but many important Jewish cultural sites remain, including the Jewish Town Hall, the Maisel Synagogue and Europe’s oldest surviving Jewish cemetery.
Cheap hotels near Josefov: With its location in the heart of Old Town, Josefov isn’t the most budget-friendly area. Cheap sleeps can be found, though, at the flashy Hostel Prague Tyn, while you’ll need to shell out a little extra for the Old World charm of the Hotel King George.
