Cheap hotels near National Museum in Prague, Czech Republic
Presiding over one end of Wenceslas Square, the National Museum's main building is one of the more recognizable sights in Prague. This building, though, is just one of the many that comprise the entire National Museum collection, which includes departments ranging from Numismatics to Ethnography to Theatre.
The main building, however, is the one that most people associate specifically with the National Museum. Built in the late 19th century, it is currently undergoing a complete renovation and will be closed until 2016. Until then, it remains simply a beautiful sight, with the majority of its exhibits now being displayed in other National Museum buildings.
