Cheap hotels near Prague Castle in Prague, Czech Republic
Sprawling over nearly 70,000 square meters, the Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle in the world and one of more fascinating (and visible) sights of Prague. Housing the offices of the President of the Czech Republic in addition to several churches, it is important for political, religious and historical reasons.
The castle was created in a somewhat hodgepodge fashion, with different additions and renovations occurring over several centuries. The resulting complex is architecturally diverse, as 13th-century Gothic buildings intermingle with 18th-century Baroque structures—and everything in between.
Perched atop it all is the soaring St. Vitus's Cathedral, visible from all over the city.
Cheap hotels near the Prague Castle: The neighborhood around the castle, Hradcany, is unsurprisingly one of the ritziest in Prague. That being said, there are some deals to be had. Furthermore, if you head a little bit down the hill into Mala Strana, you'll encounter plenty of budget hotel options. Cheapo picks include the lovely Golden Star House and the slightly more affordable Little Town Budget Hotel.
