Among the Veletrzni’s many treasure’s is the Slav Epic, a series of 20 paintings by the artist Alfons Mucha depicting the history of the Czech people. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday and costs CZK 180 for admission. Read more on the museum's website.
Cheap hotels near Veltrzni Palace: The museum’s neighborhood of Holesovice isn’t exactly the tourist center of Prague, and hotels are a little more sparse here. That being said, Sir Toby’s Hostel is one of our favorites, and has affordable dorms and privates to go with a social, welcoming vibe. Just across the river is docked the Botel Albatros, which provides comfortable, if slightly unconventional, lodging.
