We can't get Casa Banzo out of our heads! This three-room hotel splurge, housed in a 15th-century palazzo, took our breath away before we stepped foot in the door.
The Banzo, located in a quiet piazza just far enough from the Capo de' Fiori crowds, is a family-run establishment. Cool blue walls and a vaulted, frescoed portico surround a silent courtyard. Beyond, marble stairs lead to a hidden treasure.
The lobby had our chin dragging across the ornately tiled floors. Delicately painted ceilings stretch toward the sky, with polished marble and dark wood surfaces at every glance. Off to the left, a parlor is furnished to the nines with the finest of antiques.
We'd have gladly slept on the sofa, but the rooms—oh, the rooms! The three unique suite-sized rooms are jam-packed with elegant antiques, crisp linens, and sumptuous sky-high ceilings.
Best of all, owner Antonietta and her husband will make your stay as luxuriously cozy as possible. |
