The three-star Daphne Inn Veneto enjoys a strategic location between the “dolce vita” of Via Veneto and the designer labels around the Spanish Steps. It’s not exactly cheapo, but the chic décor and central location could be worth shelling out for.
Pros: Swanky and stylish. Friendly service. Superb location.
Cons: Rather pricey. Some street noise.
If you're looking to slpurge on elegance, the Daphne Inn Veneto is the place to do it. In addition to an enviable location, it provides a stylish digs and top-notch service.
The inn's seven guest rooms have cream-colored walls, color-coordinated fabrics and towels folded neatly on the beds. The Daphne Inn Veneto provides most of the standard amenities (including air conditioning, coffee and tea facilities, a mini-fridge and safe), but TVs are notably excluded. Rooms facing the street can be noisy, so we recommend requesting a room in the back.
The private bathrooms have textured tiling and large, shiny showers. They are outfitted with a hair dryer and toiletries.
The Daphne Inn Veneto’s public areas are sleek and modern. Think brown leather settees, slate floors and tasteful details. There’s a seating area around every corner, complete with soft lighting, reading material and attractive plants and paintings.
In addition to free Wi-Fi, the Daphne provides an unusual perk: Guests receive mobile phones (you pay only for your calls) to use during their stay. Breakfast is included in the room rate.
Even in low season, the Daphne Inn Veneto is too pricey to be a EuroCheapo editor's pick. However, we include it among our listings because the hotel is beautiful, incredibly well located, and will provide a memorable experience, at slightly less than other hotels of its caliber.
In addition to its swanky atmosphere, the Daphne's main draw is location, in the stylish and happening area near the Spanish Steps. And with a Linea A Metro station (Barberini) at the end of the street, the hotel is well connected to Termini Station, the Vatican and the Colosseum.

Via di San Basilio 55
Piazza di Spagna, Rome, Italy
About the Daphne Inn Veneto neighborhood
Located just south of the Villa Borghese, the Piazza di Spagna is home to the famous Spanish Steps, where hundreds gather to relax in the afternoon sun before strolling along the boutique- and café-lined Via dei Condotti. The area is home to the Trevi Fountain, the lovely Villa Borghese Park, and loads of stylish (and pricey) shops. Hotels in this area tend to be quite expensive.
