The three-star Daphne Inn Veneto enjoys a strategic location between the “dolce vita” of Via Veneto and the designer labels around the Spanish Steps. It’s not exactly cheapo, but the chic décor and central location could be worth shelling out for.

The Daphne Inn Veneto’s seven rooms have cream-colored walls, color-coordinated fabrics and towels folded neatly on the beds. The rooms feature most of the standard amenities, including air conditioning, coffee and tea facilities, a mini-fridge and safe, but TVs are notably excluded. The Daphne gets bonus points, though, for an unusual perk: Guests receive mobile phones (you pay only for your calls) for the duration of their stay.

The private bathrooms have textured tiling and large, shiny showers. They are outfitted with a hair dryer and toiletries.

The Daphne Inn Veneto’s public areas are sleek and modern. Think brown leather settees, slate floors and tasteful details. There’s a seating area around every corner, complete with soft lighting, reading material and attractive plants and paintings.

With a Linea A Metro station (Barberini) at the end of the street, the hotel is well connected to Termini Station, the Vatican and the Colosseum.
