Located one minute east of the Campo de' Fiori, the three-star Hotel in Parione offers 15 sweet rooms for a fair price.
Rooms are fresh and predictably attractive. Classic cherry-wood beds and matching nightstands sit on newly tiled floors. Green drapes coordinate with the bedspreads, and simple Roman prints hang on the walls. Baths have marble-tiled floors, new sinks, and new showers. All rooms provide air-conditioning and soundproofing. Most rooms face the bustling shopping street, although one room on each floor looks onto a tiny courtyard.
There's a small rooftop terrace (only open during the day), and a snack bar on the first floor. Breakfast is not included, so we recommend walking one block over to Campo de' Fiori and taking your coffee in style.
The Parione impressed us with their fine renovation work, popular location, and affordable rates. The management, which also runs the nearby
Hotel Smeraldo, is wise to keep prices at this level.
