We've already touted Seville's innumerable virtues as a pedestrian city, rendering cars veritably unnecessary, not to mention inconvenient. Because the small streets were built for horses and pedestrians, it's difficult, if not impossible, for cars to get through on many of them. Add to this a dearth of parking and you have yourself a rental car nightmare.
Parking in the city is scarce and expensive. If your hotel is one of the few that offers parking, you can expect to pay between €11 and €15 per day, which is around what you would pay at the local car park.
If you're a true road warrior, we suggest you rent a car for excursions out of the city. Though the Spanish buses do reach many of the smaller villages, road trips are always fun. Just be careful. The Spanish roadways are often winding and the ever-changing route classifications often render maps bewildering to even skilled cartographers.
To get the best price, reserve a car before leaving home. Ask for an all-inclusive rate with full insurance and unlimited kilometers. Many of the less expensive rental cars in Europe will have neither air conditioning nor roll-down windows. To get the best deal, shop around, reserve ahead of time and pay in advance.
A good price for a three-day economy car rental in Seville is between €195 and €220. Check out our trusty consolidator Auto Europe to find the best car rental deals in Seville. You must be at least 18 years of age to rent a car in Spain, though most companies require that drivers be at least 25 years old.
