Museum Passes

There is no all-encompassing pass like in many other European cities, but Siena does offer combined tickets to certain museums that are cheaper than buying a ticket to each museum individually. A ticket for both the Museo Civico and Torre del Mangia costs €12.The “Museum” combo ticket includes the Museo Civico, Santa Maria della Scala, and the Palazzo delle Papesse Center for Contemporary Art; the pass costs €10 and is valid for two days.

Between November 1 and March 14, you can buy a seven-day pass to the Museo Civico, SMS Contemporanea, Museo Santa Maria della Scala, Museo dell'Opera, and Battistero S. Giovanni for €14. From March 15 to October 31, a seven-day pass for the Museo Civico, SMS Contemporanea, Museo Santa Maria della Scala, Museo Dell’Opera, Battistero S. Giovanni, S. Bernardino, Museo Diocesano, and Chiesa di S. Agostino costs €17.

If you do purchase tickets individually, note that some museums offer a one euro reduction on admission prices if you reserve your tickets in advance.

Transportation Passes

A day pass for the Siena bus system costs €3.80. For more information on transportation, see our guide to Getting Around Siena.

Senior Discounts

Many of Siena's museums and monuments offer reduced admissions prices for those over 65. Members of the AARP also receive discounts on hotels, airfares and car rentals in Siena. They can be reached in the United States at 1-800-424-3410 or accessed online at the AARP website.

Student Discounts

Students also receive reduced price admission to many of Siena's tourist attractions.

The International Student Identity Card, ISIC, the most widely accepted form of student ID, provides discounts on sights, accommodations, food, and transportation. Some places offer admission discounts of 20%-50% to ISIC members. All cardholders have access to a 24-hour emergency helpline. In the United States call 1-800-223-7986 or click onto the ISIC site. Applicants must be degree seekers of a secondary or post-secondary school and must be at least 12 years of age. The card costs US$22 and is valid until the end of the year issued.

For non-students 25 years or younger, the International Youth Travel Card, IYTC, also offers many of the same benefits as the ISIC. The card costs US$22 and is valid for one year from the date issued.
