Hotel Gustav Vasa is centrally located in a late 19th-century building adjacent to the verdant Vasaparken park and the Odenplan metro station. It sits across the street from the Gustav Vasa Church, a new baroque church built in 1906. The hotel's 41 rooms are frequented by tourists in the summer and business travelers during the rest of the year.
Many rooms are quite small, though high ceilings somewhat compensate. Some floors feature gorgeous light hardwood floors, while others sport less enrapturing wall-to-wall carpeting. We think the rooms with hardwood floors are the better choice. These pristine rooms are crisp, pairing white walls and bedding with green, blue, and beige touches, the latter in the form of curtains and bedskirts. The effect is strikingly elegant.
Just outside of Stockholm's busiest area, Gustav Vasa is quiet. This is not a raucous, party scene hotel.
Note: While all Gustav Vasa's rooms have private WC and shower facilities, they are configured somewhat strangely. Some rooms feature private WCs and showers outside of the room, others have a WC within the room and a shower in the hall, and yet others have a shower within the room and a WC in the hall. The important thing to remember is that each room's facilities are private, no matter where they're located.
