Hotel Haga, on the edge of Vasastaden, can just barely be considered a central city hotel. However, because it represents a great value and is a short distance from the Stadion metro station (and from there, just minutes to the center of the city), we think it's a Stockholm hotel worth considering.
Renovated in 2007, the Haga's 38 guestrooms are comfortable and attractive. Think polished wooden floors, pretty mirrors, and colorful rugs. Bathrooms are private and boast spotless showers.
The clientele is the standard business/tourist mix, with a good share of domestic Swedish visitors.

About the Hotel Haga neighborhood
North of Norrmalm and the Central Station lies Vasastaden, an alternately sleepy and upscale hood. Featuring Vasaparken, Observatorielunden, Vanadislunden, and the cute Tegnerlunden park square, Vasastaden does not hurt for greenery. Cafés along Odengatan are polished. Sveavägen is a bit hipper, in part due to the media-rich area just to the east.
