Olindo Milani and family have run this youthful and budget-friendly Cannaregio hotel for 12 years, and, from the looks of it, they're doing good business.
During our stay, a mountain of luggage and super-sized backpacks crowded the lobby. But aside from the myriad luggage and slightly dingy entryway, the place is spick-and-span.
The Alloggi Gerotto Calderon is situated on giant Campo San Geremia and gets great sunshine all day long. As a result rooms, which are decorated in simple pastels, are flooded with natural light. Shiny porcelain floors, impeccable white walls, and just the right touch of 18th-century delicate Venetian woodwork add class where you'd least expect. And with doubles maxing out at €85 a night, you'll want for nothing.
The few scattered balconies are the building's originals, and make for extra delicious views. And the staff is in-the-know when it comes to local nightlife, take advantage. |
