This cozy joint is a short walk from San Marco and a real DYI operation. There's not much service to speak of, as you have your own key, and all the necessary edibles and drinkables at breakfast time.
Friendly owner Anna will greet you and escort you to one of the Ca' Del Dose's five rooms, each named for a famous Venetian artist and tastefully decorated in classic wood furniture, Oriental-inspired bed frames and colorful adornments.
The Ca' del Cose is a convenient, no frills home base for an active, outdoorsy type traveler. There's not much common space to speak of, but rooms are thoughtfully equipped with snacks, coffee, tea, and an electric tea kettle.
Bathrooms are a bit on the sea cabin side, but clean and functional. Rooms overlook the neighboring rooftops and flower boxes, but that's it for the view. Reception is very limited—basically, guests get a key and come and go as they please. |
