Judging from the ordinary and slightly neglected entryway at this convenient Cannaregio hotel, we would never have imagined what awaited us inside. However, the Hotel Arcadia is not a book to be judged by its cover.
The Arcadia's building dates back to the 1600s and has been excellently revamped with a clean, dark wood classic furnishings and contemporary Venetian paintings. The lounge leading to the breakfast room boasts a massive Murano chandelier and ornately sculpted, painted ceilings!
The mid-sized Rooms have a classic look, with dark wood furnishings, distinguished green linens, and pretty matching curtains and valences. Nearly all rooms overlook the bustling Cannareggio streets below. Bathrooms—all en suite—are standard and tidy. |
