A romantic stairwell curves upstairs to the Hotel La Residenza's reception, where eyes will pop and hearts will soar. Gigantic Murano chandeliers hang from sky-high ceilings, intricately scalloped wood work swirls every which way, original artwork adorns the wall and light streams through those Byzantine-Venetian arched windows. Sigh.
Rooms, while far less ornate, are large and bright. touches of Venetian-style furniture add charm to bare walls and solid bed covers. Venetian style. Bathrooms—all en suite—reflect the recent re-vamp, with shiny, new appliances.
