Located down a charming Cannaregio alley just off the Lista di Spagna, the Hotel Rossi is a 1980’s-era cheapo, with a friendly vibe and 14 basic rooms.
The lobby immediately establishes a rather retro-meets-Venice theme, with wood paneling on the walls and an awesome Murano art deco chandelier overhead. That’s pretty much the extent of the hotel’s "Venice" theme.
Rooms are simple and quiet, with white walls, repro artwork and no televisions in sight. Furniture, simple wooden headboards and small writing desks, are nothing special. Despite this plain-Jane setting, rooms are surprisingly spacious and airy. En suite bathrooms are a little on the tight side and are equipped with showers. Cheaper rooms with shared baths in the hall are also available.
Views are of the street below and a leafy park just beyond the hotel walls.
A continental breakfast is included in the rate. Wi-Fi is available in the hotel for a rather high €12 per day.

About the Hotel Rossi neighborhood
Situated north and west of the train station, Cannaregio provides some of the city's cheapest sleeps and eats. It's the most navigable "sestiere" in the city and by far the most convenient area from which to explore Venice. Adjacent to the train station on one end and bordering San Marco at the Rialto Bridge on the other, here you’ll find the Jewish Ghetto and some of Venice’s finest palaces, among them the breathtaking Ca d’ Oro.
