Co-owner Judith put her heart into this baby, and Cupid shot an arrow through ours! On a stylish strip just a few minutes walking distance from Piazza San Marco, and another few minutes to the Accademia Bridge, Locanda Art Deco blends the historical with the hip.
The Palazzo was constructed during the Belle Epoque, with marble floor and a fanciful wrought iron banister. While art deco applies to several of the furnishings and thoughtful touches (look for thoughtful geometric motifs everywhere from the tiles to the wood engravings), rooms are airy and romantic, with silky, sheer curtains and cream walls. Cool-colored bathrooms are clean and fabulously stylish.
While not blood-related, the amicable staff "feels like a family" and obviously keeps clients satisfied. They've got four hotels in their growing empire, each in various phases of renovation and improvement, and always full! Ask them anything about the city, including restaurant recommendations. Your waistline won't thank you, but your taste buds will be grateful for these hip, young, gourmands. |
