Located on a stylish strip just off the Campo San Stefano and near the Accademia Bridge, the Locanda Art Deco blends the historical and the hip. The palazzo was constructed during the Belle Epoque, and features marble floors and a fanciful wrought-iron banister.

Rooms
While “art deco” applies to several of the furnishings and thoughtful touches, The Locanda Art Deco’s six guest rooms are airy and romantic, with silky, sheer curtains and cream walls.
The Art Deco also offers a few high-tech extras. All rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, phone and computer—just ask for a keyboard upon check-in. The reception also lends out DVDs of Venice-related films to help you get in the mood.
We spent three nights in a romantic, “tree-house”-inspired room at the tip-top of the hotel, with skylights and a sloped ceiling. While it’s not for everyone (there’s a climb, for starters), we were charmed.
Bathrooms
The cool-colored private bathrooms are clean and fabulously stylish. They offer a hair dryer and toiletries.
Hotel
The amicable staff at the Locanda Art Deco "feels like a family." Ask them anything about the city, including restaurant recommendations. Your waistline won't thank you, but your taste buds will be grateful.
The folks behind the Locanda Art Deco run four hotels (including EuroCheapo pick, the Albergo San Samuele), all of which are quite popular. The Locanda is also associated with the B&B Art Deco, which sometimes serves as its annex. Reception and breakfast for both are located in the Locanda Art Deco.
A continental breakfast buffet is included in the room rate. Note that the hotel does not have an elevator.

About the Locanda Art Deco neighborhood
Located to the east of the Grand Canal, the ultra-busy San Marco neighborhood is the city's commercial, tourist and religious core. The magnificent Piazza San Marco and Saint Mark's Basilica attract travelers (and hungry pigeons) like a magnet. Here, the Rialto Bridge is a beautiful, bustling mess, where boats unload, tourists amass and pricey boutiques abound. Nearby you'll find the Accademia Bridge, Campo San Stefano, the San Stefano church and lots of street performers, shops and restaurants.
