Cheap hotels near Rialto Bridge in Venice, Italy
The Rialto Bridge, linking the districts of San Marco and San Polo, is the most famous of the four bridges crossing Venice’s Grand Canal. It’s also the oldest bridge, dating to 1255, when a wooden bridge was erected to help townspeople cross over to the popular Rialto Market.
In the 1500’s, the Rialto bridge was rebuilt in stone, despite critics’ warnings that it would never survive. Yet the bridge remains to this day and is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
Cross over to visit the famous Rialto Market, where you can browse stands filled with fresh produce, vintage clothing and handmade leather bags.
