Baronesse My Secret Home is a sister property to the decidedly less impressive Aviano. The Baronesse's sleek rooms in the heart of charming Josefstadt are some of our favorites. Note: This part of Josefstadt is home to the Rathaus and is mostly residential, but it isn't far from the Innere Stadt (a 10-minute walk, or a quick U-Bahn ride).

The Baronesse's 39 rooms are dolled up with white bed frames and desks, parquet floors, and red satin chairs that have an air of “Viennese style on steroids.” Renovated rooms are more modern and include flat-screen televisions and large bathrooms with modern fixtures. A few rooms upstairs have postage-stamp sized balconies overlooking Lange Gasse. All rooms have wireless and cable television, though the hotel does skimp on toiletries.

There are quite a few additional touches that you won't find elsewhere, including free bicycles for guest use and portable GPS systems to carry on walks or while biking.

For a four-star property, the Baronesse is an excellent deal, even at splurge-worthy prices.
