Situated in Rietberg Park, the Rietberg Museum is housed in a series of impressive villas and contain a staggering collection of art. The museum prides itself on being the only place in Switzerland devoted to non-European art. On display here you’ll find works from Asia, Africa and the Pre-Colonial America.
Exhibits therefore range from Hindu myths to African masks. Highlights of the permanent collection include an iconic image of Uday Shankar (considered the world’s most famous Indian dancer), Persian tapestries, ancient Chinese masks and Buddha statues.

To get to the museum, which is located on Zurich’s left bank and just south of the main city center action, you can take a tram #7 which has a stop directly outside the museum or hop on bus #33.
