Zurich’s main train station, its "Hauptbahnhof," is a very busy place, serving some 2,000 trains (and about 350,000 passengers) a day. It’s located just north of the Bahnhofstrasse lending easy access to all major city sights.

The structure’s main hall, which is marked by an impressive archway, dates to 1870. Today’s more modern station sits further above ground, while down below in the older hall there’s a farmer’s market and a community space used for concerts, special events and exhibits. The train station also has its own underground shopping mall with more than 200 stores.
