Best Western Amazon Hotel

Tucked away behind a small jewelry shop, the three-star Hotel Amazon gives you convenient access to the most appealing parts of central Athens but muffles both the noise and hassle.

The hotel's rooms were recently updated and boast crisp white bedding and bright white walls to match. Expect the kind of rooms you would find in a business hotel, complete with soundproof windows and complimentary Wi-Fi. (The air conditioning, however, is centrally operated, meaning you can’t control the temp in your room without asking the staff.)

Tiled bathrooms are bright white with warm wood cabinets and marbled counters. They're also smaller than you would expect, particularly in contrast with the larger-than-average bedrooms. Still, they're stylish and very clean.

Leaving the hotel, you will smell baked goods and coffee from a nearby bakery and incense floating over from the tiny neighboring church. Finally, the Amazon's location makes it easy to travel by foot to just about anywhere in the center of town.
