The center of Cannes changes distinctly as you move from the central train station to the Promenade de la Croisette, which runs along the Plage de Croisette. Rue d'Antibes, a couple blocks south of the lower brow area surrounding the station, functions as the town's main high-end shopping street. South of this, the magnificent hotel-lined Promenade runs along the water and the large Palais des Festivals sits east of the public beach.
