The historical center of Dusseldorf, known as Aldstadt or Old Town, is a mostly car-free zone. Narrow lanes filled with rowdy bars are interrupted by boutiques, museums and historical sights.
Konigsallee, known around town as the "Ko," is Dusseldorf's main shopping avenue. It starts at Hoftgarten and moves south. The majestic St. Andreas Church rules the corner of Muhlenstrasse and Hunsruckenstrasse with white and gold stucco and 22-life-size sculptures. The Museum Quarter is also part of the neighborhood.
