Cheap hotels near Piazza Santissima Annunziata in Florence, Italy

Located on the northeastern side of the Piazza Santissima Annunziata, the church of Santissima Annunziata, a Roman Catholic minor basilica, was founded in 1250. Inside, the church showcases a well-restored Baroque interior and is decked out with sculptures and paintings by some of Florence’s finest artists, including Bronzino.

Situated prominently in the center of the square, the imposing sculpture of Ferdinando I de' Medici sits on horseback and is hard to miss.

Europe’s oldest orphanage, the Ospedale degli Innocenti sits on the east side of the square. Marked by a series of arches, the building today serves as a mini-museum, mostly displaying (appropriately enough) paintings of the Madonna with children, as well as other orphanage artifacts.
